Installing a Super Servo...

When I was installing the new torque converter with help from Robert, he showed me this cool billet servo - I had to have one :>)

The end result is that the transmission has very "crisp" shifts, and the shift "hardness" feels appropriate for the amount of throttle...I like it!

Parts Used:
  • Superior Transmission "Super Servo"

  • Information:
  • Largest apply area available for 700-R4. 35 percent more apply area than the Corvette servo.
  • Super positive 1-2 shift.
  • Quicker servo release on the 4-3 downshift.
  • Positive 3-2 kick down.
  • Adjustable pin tip included to set perfect band clearance.
  • Great for heavy service, towing, racing and off-road.
  • Also can be installed on the 4L60-E.
  • Kit contains two-piece 6061-T6 billet aluminum piston set with three piece steel washer
  • set, servo clip, servo pin extender, custom return spring and four piece Teflon sealing ring and O-ring set.

We already had the transmission out - it is not required!...

Use a screwdriver to remove the lock ring...

Pulling the cover....Cut the seal and remove it to then remove the cap...

Remove servo parts from transmission and cover... Note the direction of this piece in the cap - it needs to go back the same way!

Use a wire brush to clean the sealing edge, and a cloth to remove all the sediment, etc...

    Read the instructions from here!...

Some of the old servo parts...

Following the directions to build the new servo...

The finished product with all the non-reused parts out of the way...

    New servo in the tranny...

Install lock ring...and we are done!...

Thanks to Robert, and "Bob the tranny guy"!!!
